What’s Your Flavour? Tell Me What’s Your Flavour? A Guide to Choosing Your Kind of Quirky

People tell me all the time that I’m basically Miranda Hart from the sitcom, in real life and I completely agree. If someone says a phrase that happens to be a lyric, I will burst into song. If I’m eating something good, there will be a happy dance. If romance enters the chat, I turn into a Victorian child who’s never made eye contact before. I’ll break into dad dancing at the most inopportune moment. I’ve accepted it, I’m weird and proud.

If I had to pick a word for my flavour of quirky, it would be one of these:

  • Chaotic‑wholesome

  • Accidentally theatrical

  • Unfiltered‑but‑well‑meaning

Everyone has their own version of quirky. Some people are loud about it. Some people hide it until they’re comfortable. Some people don’t realise they’re quirky at all until someone points out the way they talk to inanimate objects or the way they clap their hands when they’re excited.

So let’s figure out your flavour.

Are you the loud‑and‑proud type?

You’re the person who tells a story with your whole body. You gesture, you pace, you reenact the dialogue, you commit. You’re the friend who can’t whisper in a restaurant. You’re the one who laughs first and loudest. If someone asked you to “tone it down”, you’d have to ask for instructions.

Are you the whimsical‑fairy type?

You drift. You float. You collect shiny things. You have a favourite tree. You probably own at least one item of clothing that swishes when you walk. You’re the person who spots a mushroom and gasps like it’s a celebrity. You’re not trying to be ethereal, you just are.

Are you the dry‑humour type?

You look calm on the outside, but your inner monologue is a full comedy routine. You deliver one‑liners without blinking. People think you’re serious until you drop a comment that makes them choke on their drink.

Are you the human‑golden‑retriever hybrid?

You’re enthusiastic. You’re friendly. You get excited about things other people don’t notice. You have a habit of tripping over nothing. You apologise to furniture when you bump into it. You’re like a dog sticking it’s head out the window on a sunny day.

Are you the “I swear I’m normal until you get to know me” type?

You present as calm, collected, maybe even sensible. Then someone spends more than an hour with you and realises you have a very specific laugh, a very specific hobby, and a very specific way of telling stories that makes people wonder how you’ve survived this long.

Why does any of this matter for a photoshoot?

Because your flavour of quirky is the thing that makes your photos feel like you. The way you move, the way you react, the way you laugh, the way you exist in the world, that’s the good stuff.

If you’re loud‑and‑proud, we lean into movement.

If you’re whimsical, we find soft light and mossy corners.

If you’re a comedian, we embrace the side‑eye and the smirk.

If you’re puppy dog energy, we let you run around a bit.

If you’re secretly weird, we give you space to warm up and then catch the moment you drop the mask.

Your flavour isn’t something to hide. It’s the thing that makes your photos feel alive.

So what’s your flavour?

If you don’t know yet, don’t worry, most people don’t. That’s half the fun… We’ll figure it out together before you step in front of the camera.
